Litecoin (LTC) is being added to the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange, reports Forbes, along with Zcash (ZEC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
The exact date for when Litecoin will be added to Gemini has yet to be announced, but details on Zcash’s addition have been released already, so, hopefully, details on Litecoin will soon follow.
The Gemini exchange was founded by the Winklevoss twins, Tyler and Cameron. Currently, Gemini supports Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). It is ranked as the 32nd largest cryptocurrency exchange by 24-hour trading volume on CoinMarketCap with a 24-hour trading volume of $65 million.
Litecoin (LTC)’s Charlie Lee
Litecoin’s creator Charlie Lee tweeted his excitement over the Gemini addition, which brought on positive response from the crypto community.
Excellent news, I have another reason now not to use coinbase anymore.

Charlie Lee will also be joining Consensus 2018, talking Litecoin and all things crypto. He’ll be a panelist on ‘The Race Towards Interoperability,’ which will be covering the platforms that are balancing security, efficiency, privacy, ease of use, governance, and flexibility. For any attendees, that session is happening in the Grand Ballroom East from 1:30 PM – 2:10 PM today.
Litecoin (LTC) Price Update
Over the weekend, Lee commented how people complain about Litecoin’s (and Bitcoin’s) price now, despite the fact that both coins are selling at a significantly higher price now than they were a year ago. People are flipping out about how low the price is, but he points out that Litecoin was selling for around $30.00 this time last year.
Currently, Litecoin is selling for $148.16. That’s certainly nothing to frown about. The coin is up 2.33% in the past 24 hours. Although LTC may have declined since the beginning of this year (by -36%), it’s good to keep in mind that the coin was selling for under $30 this time last year. No matter how you slice it, things have progressed.
What’s your stance on Litecoin?
